Leadership Doesn’t Come Cheap | The Cost Leaders Pay
Kent was in Nepal a few years ago visiting a missionary. He had the opportunity to take an Everest flight. He flew over Mount Everest in an extremely small airplane.
It’s a majestic mountain that only the most skilled climbers attempt.
Here’s what was interesting: at the foot of that mountain, you can see several base camps, and they had many stories about them. They said that these base camps were the most important part of the climb to the summit.
This resonated with us on so many levels.
💜
You see, if you're going to make it all the way up a mountain, you must have a strong base camp.
And that's so true for us as leaders. If we're going to climb mountains, if we're going to do great exploits for the Lord, and if we're going to lead effectively, we've got to have a strong foundation in our family from which to move or function from.
It's very important to realize this commitment as a leader. It costs everyone who is connected to you when you take up the call to lead.
It costs each member of your family— your spouse and your children— because it's a total commitment.

In this talk Kent & Beverly talk about the cost leaders pay.
